What
We Do
In
order to appreciate the type of work we carry out to overcome the problems
with your property we have briefly summarised our operational methods.
We do carry out all works with our own staff and only employ contractors
on electrical or plumbing works.
Rising
Damp
Once the problem has been identified our normal procedure is to remove
the internal plaster to a height of at least one meter, inject a chemical
damp course into the brickwork or mortar joints at 100 mm intervals,
after a reasonable drying out period we replaster the internal walls
incorporating a waterproof additive if required we can remove and refit
radiators, skirting boards and fixtures and fittings.
Penetrating
Damp
Although this can be caused by many defects these would be identified
in the report that we issue including the proposed solution required.
We do carry out an external water repellent treatment that is suitable
for the problems of frost damage and surface spalling, salt efflorescence,
algae growth and chemical corrosion.
Cellar
Tanking
If you have a cellar or basement and require it to be used as an extra
room we do provide a complete tanking service using a variety of methods
to suit your requirement and the particular specification of the site.
Wood
Treatment
Depending on the type and location of the infestation we are able to
provide a method to eradicate the problem of wood boring insects from
the common furniture beetle to the death watch beetle. Also we resolve
dry rot and wet rot problems by removing the source and if necessary
replacing the timber. With dry rot the work also involves applying fungicidal
solutions and establishing a "Cordon Sanitaire" around the
outbreak.
Timber
Deck and Patio Sealing
Due to the chemicals available and the type of equipment we have we
can provide a cleaning and sealing system for timber decking and block
paving that resists algae, lichen and weed growth. It also increases
the water resistance and makes general cleaning easier.
Building
Works
We specialise and are experienced in extension, timber framed buildings,
listed buildings and problem renovation, see our sister web site at http://propertypreservationsuffolk.co.uk/.
